Getting Nominated for the Mystery Blogger Award

Just a few days ago, I never would have guessed that so many of you would be reading my content. Each morning I wake up amazed at all of the thoughtful comments and messages left on my page and in my inbox. I find myself astonished that hundreds of you, from so many different countries have taken the time to read my writing.

The nonalcoholicstudent recently nominated me for the Mystery Blogger Award. So firstly, I would like to say a huge thank you to my new writer friend for doing this. The Mystery Blogger Award is a fun way of getting to know other bloggers and finding good blog content.

“an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts.  Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates.  They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get.  This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging, and they do it with so much love and passion.”   -Okoto Enigma, creator

Here’s how it works, if you get nominated:

  • Tell your readers 3 things about yourself.
  • Answer the questions posed by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 10 or more people and notify them of it.
  • Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice; with one specified out of the ordinary question.

Additional guidelines can be found at the bottom of this post.

Answering nonalcoholicstudent’s Questions

     1. Describe yourself in three words.

Pretty darn cool!

2. What is your favourite post and why?

I would have to say that my favorite post is the Longreads featured Changing My Mind about Pigs Feet and Cornrows by Dara Lurie. For anyone who hasn’t already read it, I highly suggest giving it a read.

3. What kind of things do you want to blog about that you haven’t already done?

This is a great question! I would love to blog about my travel experiences. So many people have asked about them that I am now fully set upon writing about it! I would also like to write about the things I am very passionate about, such as true social injustice, factory mistreatment of animals, humanitarian efforts, and my oh so wonderful hobbies of course!

4. Are you a morning or night person?

For such a simple question, this is pretty tough to answer! I am naturally more of a morning person. I love waking up early in the morning to quickly rising golden rays of sun. Unfortunately enough, out of habit I live by night. My housemates are night owls- if they aren’t getting sleep, no one is getting sleep. That being said, going to bed early for me usually ranges anywhere from 12 am to 2 am.

5. What’s your party trick?

When I asked a relative what she thought my party trick was, she promptly answered, “You don’t have one, you’re boring!” To her amusement, I couldn’t think of any. If it counts, I do have a knack for impersonating elderly ladies- not the best trick out there. I suppose that means it’s time to go learn a few!

3 Things About Me

The first thing about me is that I love music! I have a hobby of collecting instruments of all kinds. Vinyl records are also something I like to collect, I have hundreds of records sitting in my room, happily waiting to be played! Stellar song suggestions are not uncommon around here, just ask and I would be more than happy to share!

Another thing about me is that I’m a college student. Where I’m from, 14, 15, and 16 year old college students are becoming quite the norm. For any young teens reading this, definitely think about giving it a try. It’s a great opportunity to get ahead on your secondary education!

Remember how I said that I have a knack for impersonating old ladies? The last thing about me is that I love to knit and crochet. When I was 12 years old, I stayed up all night making my first scarf with a pair of chopsticks. Out of that experience, I started a small business which took off successfully. I eventually stopped selling my creations after a few years so that I could focus on finishing highschool. Even still, one of my dreams is to teach those such as human trafficking survivors and low income families to be self sustainable, generating an income by marketing their own products.
